Carl of Carl Holm’s Fishing Guide Service has been fishing since he was able to hold a rod and reel. He grew up on his fathers tug boat delivering gas and propane to camps all over the Lake of the Woods, in Ontario Canada, and when he got older his father and he would haul pulpwood log booms over a mile long across the mighty Lake of the Woods to the Kenora pulp and paper mill. They were the last ones to do so on inland waters, the end of an era.
Carl has also had his own boat and motor since he was 9 years old. By the time he turned 12, his favorite walleye holes were 20 miles down the lake. He started professionally guiding around 15 years ago for camps in the Kenora, Sioux Narrows and Nestor Falls area. He really like to be on the water as much as possible. We specialize in big bucks, and rarely- if ever fished musky lakes and all other fish too at top rates.
Our main lodge is on the Winnepeg River System off Minaki Hwy. Our Fly-in outposts are accessible from Nestor Falls on lakes Kiskuteena and Kawaiia. Boat rentals and guides are also available. We also offer fishing on Lake of the Woods where we have boat slips available to our clients. We offer combo trips for Musky fishing and guided deer/bear hunts.
